One thing about me, I’m never afraid of color. And turquoise is one of those colors that can completely change an outfit.
Somewhere between blue and green, turquoise is bright enough to make a statement but surprisingly easy to style. I especially love the way it pops against my skin tone. Give me a bold color and I’m going to find a way to wear it.
But if you’ve ever pulled a turquoise top, dress, or pair of pants out of your closet and thought, Okay, but what color am I supposed to wear with this?—that’s where things can get tricky.
The good news is that turquoise works with more colors than you might think. White, black, beige, navy, olive green, brown and even brighter shades can all work depending on the look you’re going for.
So let’s get into what colors go with turquoise clothes, plus some of my favorite ways to put together turquoise outfits without feeling like the color is wearing you.

What Colors Go With Turquoise Clothes?
Turquoise is easier to style than it looks because it works with neutrals, earthy shades, other blues and greens, and even a few bold colors. If you’re wondering what colors go with turquoise clothes, some of the easiest combinations are white, black, beige, navy blue, olive green and brown.
The best combination really depends on the look you’re going for. White and beige can make turquoise feel fresh and relaxed, while black or navy gives it a little more contrast. And if you’re like me and aren’t afraid of color, you can absolutely bring in yellow, coral, or even another shade of green.
Turquoise and White
White is probably one of the easiest colors to wear with turquoise. It keeps the outfit looking bright and fresh while letting the turquoise be the star.
I especially love this combination for spring and summer. Try a turquoise top with white pants, a turquoise dress with white accessories, or even white jeans with a turquoise blouse.

Turquoise and Black
Black gives turquoise a stronger contrast and can instantly make it feel a little dressier. A turquoise top with black pants is an easy option for dinner or work, while black shoes and accessories can ground a bright turquoise dress.
If you’re nervous about wearing a lot of color, this is one of the easiest combinations to start with.
Turquoise and Beige
Beige and turquoise are such a pretty combination because the neutral tone balances out the brightness of turquoise. Think turquoise with beige trousers, a tan jacket, nude shoes, or a neutral handbag.
This is one of my favorite ways to make turquoise feel a little softer and more polished without taking away the color completely.
Turquoise and Navy Blue
Navy blue and turquoise work beautifully together because you’re staying within the blue family while still creating enough contrast to make the outfit interesting.
Try turquoise with dark-wash denim, navy trousers, a navy blazer, or navy accessories. This combination can also work year-round instead of making turquoise feel like a summer-only color.
Turquoise and Olive Green
Try a turquoise top with olive pants or add an olive jacket over a turquoise outfit for an easy way to wear the two colors together.
Turquoise and olive green might not be the first combination you think of, but they work surprisingly well together. Olive tones down some of turquoise’s brightness and gives the outfit a more earthy feel.
Turquoise and Brown
Brown gives turquoise a warm, earthy feel and is especially pretty when you want the color to feel less summery. Try a turquoise top with chocolate-brown pants, a brown jacket, or brown boots and a handbag.
I also love how turquoise jewelry looks against brown because you get that beautiful contrast without either color competing for attention.
Turquoise and Gray
Gray is a softer alternative to black when you want to tone down a bright turquoise piece. Light gray can keep the outfit feeling fresh, while charcoal creates more contrast.
This is an easy combination for work too. Think turquoise blouse, gray trousers, and neutral shoes.
Turquoise and Gold
Gold and turquoise just look good together. Period. Gold jewelry is probably one of the easiest ways to accessorize a turquoise outfit, especially if you don’t want to introduce another clothing color.
Try gold hoops, layered necklaces, a bracelet, or metallic heels with a turquoise dress for a dressier look.
Can You Wear Bright Colors With Turquoise?
Absolutely. If you’re comfortable wearing color, turquoise doesn’t have to be paired only with neutrals. Coral, yellow, fuchsia and even red can work—the trick is letting one color take the lead.
For example, wear a turquoise dress with a colorful bag or heels rather than trying to make every piece of the outfit compete for attention. You can also use a print that already contains turquoise and another bold shade to make the combination feel more intentional.
And y’all already know I’m not scared of color. Sometimes the accessory that technically “doesn’t match” is exactly what makes the outfit.

How to Choose the Right Shade of Turquoise for You
And don’t limit yourself to dresses. A turquoise blouse, pants, skirt, blazer, sweater, shoes, or accessories can give you the same pop of color without committing to a head-to-toe turquoise look.
Turquoise isn’t just one color. It can lean more blue, more green, deeper like teal, or lighter and brighter. The easiest way to choose a shade is to try different versions and see which one makes you feel your best.
Personally, I love a bold turquoise because of the way it pops against my skin tone. That’s one of the reasons you’ll see me reach for bright colors so often. But you don’t have to follow a rule about which shade you’re “supposed” to wear.
You can also think about the rest of your wardrobe. If you wear a lot of neutrals, a brighter turquoise piece can give your closet that pop of color. If you’re already a color girl like me, deeper turquoise and teal shades are easy to mix with other colors you already own.
How to Accessorize a Turquoise Outfit
The main thing is balance. If your turquoise dress, top, or pants are doing the most, every accessory doesn’t have to compete with it. Pick one or two details that finish the outfit and let the color do its thing.
Once you’ve figured out what colors you’re wearing with turquoise, accessories are where you can really make the outfit feel like your own.
For jewelry, I’m a gold girl with turquoise. Gold hoops, layered necklaces, bracelets, or a statement necklace can look beautiful against such a bold color. Silver works too if that’s more your style.
If the turquoise is already the statement piece, you can keep everything else simple with a neutral handbag and shoes. Or do the complete opposite and add a colorful bag or statement shoe. Y’all know which direction I’m probably going.

What Shoes Go With Turquoise?
And yes, you can wear turquoise shoes too. If the shoes are the statement, pair them with something simple like white, denim, beige, black, or another neutral and let the shoes have their moment.
If you’re wearing turquoise clothing, neutral shoes are usually the easiest place to start. Nude, beige, black, white, brown, or metallic shoes can all work depending on the rest of your outfit.
For a turquoise dress, nude or metallic heels can keep the focus on the color, while black shoes create more contrast. White sandals or sneakers can make turquoise feel more casual for spring and summer.
Turquoise Is Easier to Wear Than You Think
If turquoise has been sitting in the “I love it, but what am I supposed to wear with it?” category in your closet, hopefully this gave you a few ideas.
Start simple with white, black, beige, navy, or brown. Once you’re comfortable with that, start playing with olive green, gold, or even one of those bold color combinations. There really are so many ways to make turquoise work with pieces you probably already own.
And as somebody who loves color, I’m always going to encourage you to at least try it on. Fashion is supposed to be fun. You don’t need a closet full of turquoise either—a top, pair of pants, dress, shoes, or even an accessory can be enough to bring some color into your wardrobe.
Most importantly, wear the combination that makes you feel good. Because the “right” color combination doesn’t mean much if you don’t feel like yourself when you put it on.
