With everything happening in the world, many women have found themselves reluctantly becoming stay-at-home moms. For me, though, this has been my reality for the past 3 ½ years, and it’s a life I chose for myself. I feel incredibly happy and blessed to be at home with our children. While I understand that this path isn’t for everyone, it was a conscious decision for us. As a flight attendant married to a pilot, I knew that continuing my career would mean our kids would be raised by someone else half of the time. That was something neither of us wanted, so we wholeheartedly agreed that I would become a stay-at-home mom.

When my husband and I were just friends, he was adamant about having a two-income household. LOL! How quickly things change. After numerous discussions before we got married, we carefully considered several factors before deciding that I would become a stay-at-home mom. Transitioning from two incomes to one is a significant decision that impacts every aspect of family life. It’s crucial to think through all the factors to ensure you’re making the best choice for your unique situation. Financial stability is a primary concern; losing one income means adjusting your lifestyle and budgeting carefully to cover all expenses, including unexpected ones.

Creating a list of concrete goals for daily activities and financial planning can make the change more manageable.
