I want to thank The Spoiled Mama for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions are 100% my own.
Let’s talk about stretch marks. With my first son I didn’t really have a pregnancy skin care routine. So I didn’t do anything about my growing belly or anything that accompanied it. When women are pregnant they will notice stretch marks around the abdomen as the baby keeps growing. They are visible lines on your skin in areas where the skin has expanded due to internal pressure. I had a ton of stretch marks with my first son and this pregnancy isn’t much different. What I had to do was figure out how to deal with my pregnancy stretch marks.
WHAT CAUSES IT?
As your skin is stretching, along with your womb and other parts of your body, stretch marks are left. Stretch marks are likely to occur in pregnant women because we have to put on so much weight. My mother had them, my sister had them, I knew chances were high I would get them too.
WHAT CAN I DO?
While browsing through Instagram one day I saw a product by Spoiled Mama. I got curious and went to their website. The first thing I saw was “taking care of others means taking care of yourself first!” More importantly the ingredients are toxin free, vegan, and pregnancy friendly. Needless to say I decided to give it a try. So I have been trying out the “stretch mark prevention trio” for a couple of weeks now. It consists of:
Tummy Butter for Stretch Marks (4 oz): The bestselling cocoa butter pregnancy stretch mark prevention cream that aids elasticity and evens skin tone.
Bump Gloss Pregnancy Stretch Mark Oil (4 oz): A lavender blend that features 10 super oils to boost skin’s hydration levels and lock in moisture.
Indulge Stretch Mark Scrub (8 oz): An invigorating sugar scrub that buffs away dull skin and injects skin with healthy essential fatty acids.

MY MORNING ROUTINE
I always start my morning off with a shower. So the first thing I use is the Indulge Stretch Mark Scrub. It’s a sugar scrub so it has tiny granules you can feel slough away at the dead skin. As soon as I worked it into my skin it immediately felt softer and smoother. I noticed most of my stretch marks across my belly, hips, and breasts so I concentrated on those areas.
After I’m done showering, but before I grab my towel I use the Bump Gloss Pregnancy Stretch Mark Oil. If you’ve ever used baby oil and have tried to apply it on dry skin then you know it doesn’t go on very well. That’s why it’s best to use this on damp skin. I should mention I use a circular motion when I apply anything to my stomach.
Usually after this I’m mostly dry and just have to pat down the rest of my body. I brush my teeth, then put on the Tummy Butter. Moisturizing your skin helps a lot to relieve itchiness and dryness. I can feel the difference when I go through my routine and when I don’t. My skin isn’t itchy and dry throughout the day. It’s like I can actually feel my skin stretching. I apply the tummy butter again before I go to bed.
WHY YOU SHOULD TREAT YO SELF
When we are pregnant it can get kind of hard to remember to take time for ourselves. We are so busy doing numerous other things for our body and baby. We have to also remember to take care of ourselves on the inside and OUTSIDE. Taking a few minutes each day to pamper ourselves is self-care. Also, making sure we start a skin care routine early in our pregnancies can help with our pregnancy stretch marks.
I absolutely loved The Spoiled Mama products! There wasn’t anything in the ingredients that I had to google, and I loved the way my stomach felt everyday. They smelled great and I am noticing the difference in my stomach’s appearance.
What about you? Do you have a skin care routine for your pregnancy stretch marks?
Until Next Time!
